Seeking Jesus

Updated: Jul 6, 2022

“If you seek Him with all your heart, you will find Him.”

(Deuteronomy 4:29)

Children sometimes play the game “Hide and Seek.” The object is to find such a good hiding place that none of the other players can find you. God takes a different approach to us seeking Him. He is in plain sight so we can find Him easily if we seek Him.

We talk about finding our way. Jesus is the only way you will really find rest for your soul, and to go to Heaven after you leave Earth. He said that He is the way, the truth, and the life and no one goes to the Father except through Him (John 14:6). When you commit your life to Jesus Christ, and choose to follow Jesus, you have found your way and become a child of God, our Father who is in Heaven. What deep, profound joy this is!

If you are reading this and are not a child of our Heavenly Father, that is, in a personal relationship with Him through Jesus Christ, I urge you to seek Jesus. This is your decision and yours alone. However, it is the most important decision you will ever make in your entire life because it will determine where you spend eternity after your earthly life is over.

The below information might help you choose to believe in Jesus:

Overwhelming evidence shows that Jesus is God and came from Heaven to Earth, lived among us (John 1:14), died on the cross in atonement for our sins, was buried, and rose from the dead. Accounts were written down early after the events. Therefore, they are even more reliable than if they were recorded later. Jesus' tomb is empty. There were many eyewitnesses who saw Him after He rose from the dead (1 Corinthians 15:3-7).

Scripture states that to all who receive Jesus, who believe in His name, God gives the right to become children of God (John 1:12). It also says that, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved (Romans 10:9).

This kind of belief is life-changing. You do not need to clean yourself up to sincerely come to God. He will accept you as you are (John 6:37). Your desire then becomes to live for Jesus, and follow Him. God changes you so you can do that according to His Word.

Our Heavenly Father is delighted to welcome all who come to Him in Jesus.

Will you choose Jesus?

Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever!.

(Psalm 107:1)
