trudy's story
Trudy boldly shares the Word of God in approachable and inspiring ways. She ministers to women of all ages that they might know Jesus and follow Him. Her life experiences equip her to help hurting women resolve their issues, cultivating the peace of God within.
Upon committing her life to Jesus Christ, it wound up costing her marriage, her home, and almost her life.
Sometime later, the Lord brought into her life a wonderful, godly man. In their marriage, they raised their blended family and eagerly served in ministry roles to which God called them. Fast forward 36 years to 2015. Jesus took Trudy's dear husband to heaven following his long bout with cancer. She was heartbroken. However, as in the past, Trudy found healing in God's Word, and by heeding the counsel she would have given another in her position.
Following that loss, Trudy experienced the deaths of a sibling, a (step)son, dear in-laws and other relatives, and long-time friends.
After the passing of her late husband and not planning to marry again, she asked God to teach her how to counsel widows entering a new marriage. Being a life-long learner and avid reader, Trudy anticipated being pointed to books. Instead, God surprised her with “on the job” training! He brought a new, believing husband to her—a kind widower from her church. They were married in December 2017. God amazingly manifested to her Isaiah 55:8 & 9.
Isaiah 55:8-9
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways,
declares the Lord.
“As the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts.”
Trudy and her husband Walter, married in 2017.
Trudy worked in the medical arena for a number of years. While there, women would often tell her their problems, ask her advice, and want to know Scripture to help through the problems. Consequently, after her children were out of college, she went back for her degrees. Trudy has also served in the community and in numerous church leadership and missions capacities.
Trudy holds a B.A. in Biblical Counseling and M.A. in Christian Counseling for Counseling Women, both from Trinity College of the Bible and Theological Seminary, Evansville, IN; and an Advanced Certificate in Christian Life Coaching through the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC). She founded His Hope Ministries, whose purpose is to counsel and coach women.
Combined, Trudy and her husband Walter have seven children, 26 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Trudy loves dark chocolate and hates math. She enjoys scrapbooking, walking, bicycling, and boating on clean lakes. She rates herself a “fledgling gardener”.
